Resurrecting Old Blog Post: "Mind's Eye Quilt 1/29/22

  I started this quilt top years ago and had it in my "failure" pile since I got the geometry wrong in a few spots. I named it "Mind's Eye" and I wanted it to be a meditation on the cosmos, our world is how we see it and the intricate interconnectedness everything has. I make my own patterns so it was a bit rough. I do plan on trying the design again. Possibly with similar color schemes.

 I was throwing an Easter Egg decorating party and only 2 co-workers showed up. It was really nice of them to come out! My one coworker asked if I had pictures of any quilts I made and I only had a picture of Minds Eye. I explained it was a failure and she said "I don't see it, if you finish it can I have it?" So I finished it and gave it to her at her retirement party. 

*I did end up quilting more in the dark section at the top and bottom. I did simple triangles.

Sickness Meditations: Touch, Everything is Art

I live and breathe as though I were an artist. I think everything is art.   I'm sick yet again so things might get real weird. Feverish, body aches, runny nose, sneezing. Snot rags everywhere, ginger teas, Star Wars. BLAGHH This is my lot for working with tons of people.  Touch: surprise, wanted or unwanted and the grey areas I love and crave touch. Most forms make me happy.   In the past week I went to a conference, attended a robotics competition with a couple hundred teens and went to a packed night club. Lots of people shaking hands, hugging, high fives, dancing etc. Lots of different touch going on.    At the night club I looked down a few times to see if Shawn's hand was on me or someone else's! I was wearing something short and form fitting. (I like participating in this slice of culture at clubs. It is so interesting to me.)
